Aging Skin

Over time, your skin can show signs of aging, like fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven texture. Sentient Tixel's advanced technology jumpstarts the production of fresh collagen, naturally rejuvenating your skin for a more youthful appearance.

Stubborn Blemishes

Blemishes, scars, and uneven tone can affect your self-assurance. This treatment offers highly customizable skin resurfacing, targeting imperfections and leaving you with smoother, clearer, and more even skin.

Downtime

Worried about extended recovery periods after a skin procedure? Sentient Tixel Skin Resurfacing minimizes downtime, allowing you to swiftly return to your daily life while enjoying remarkable skin improvements.

How It Works

Tixel is a non-invasive skin resurfacing device that is the first (and only) of its kind using Thermal- Mechanical Action (TMA)® to transform all skin types. No needles. No lasers. No radiation. Just results.

TMA technology combines motion and heat with a medical-grade titanium tip to transfer thermal energy to the skin quickly, safely and effectively. This creates a controlled micro-injury to the skin triggering the initiation of neocollagenesis or new collagen production. This highly customizable fractional skin resurfacing device allows for well-tolerated treatments with minimal downtime and major skin transformations.

Results

Tixel skin resurfacing will leave your skin radiant and more youthful appearing after only a few short sessions. Each treatment is customizable, keeping your skin goals, budget, and schedule in mind. With utilization of higher settings, results are comparable to aggressive treatments like deep chemical peels and intense laser treatments (like Fraxel and CO2 laser), but with significantly less discomfort and downtime. Additionally, without the use of laser or radiation, we can safely treat the full eye area, including hooded lids.

Treatment Duration

Variable depending on area(s) being treated; however, a full face treatment typically takes approximately 1 hour (including numbing time).

Recovery Times

Variable depending on treatment intensity; however, you can expect redness and mild swelling for 1-2 days followed by around 3-5 days of tiny bronzed dots that slough off with time. I recommend avoiding makeup for 24 hours post-treatment, but once applied, it can typically cover most evidence of treatment.

FAQs

How does Tixel compare to microneedling with radiofrequency?

Most importantly, Tixel can offer a greater skin tightening effect and lift than RFMN AND with significantly less discomfort.  Tixel does not offer the fat melting/remodeling component that deeper RFMN treatments can offer; however, fat remodeling can result in increased skin laxity (loose skin) and unsatisfactory results depending on the area treated so I would not always recommend this type of treatment.

How does Tixel compare to a fractional ablative laser?

Tixel is not a laser. At higher settings, it can provide results similar to fractional ablative lasers.  With Tixel, the stratum corneum (outermost layer of skin) remains intact which allows for easier recovery and significantly less downtime. There is no oozing or bleeding during a treatment and significantly less swelling post-treatment.

What does Tixel feel like?

It is generally very well-tolerated.  Depending on intensity of treatment, topical numbing is available prior to treatment. During the treatment itself, some people report a feeling of heat at the treatment site – this can sometimes last for a few hours post treatment, but does gradually dissipate.

How many treatments are needed?

For general skin rejuvenation, 3 treatments are typically recommended each about 4-6 weeks apart.  If we are treating a more difficult issue like acne scarring OR if we are using lower settings (to minimize downtime), it may require more treatments overall.

How much downtime after each treatment?

Keeping the outermost layer of skin intact allows for minimal downtime. Downtime also varies based on treatment settings, patient genetic factors, use of topical exosomes, etc. With that being said, I typically advise my patients that they can expect to look red (like a sunburn) on the day of treatment – this redness will gradually dissipate over the next day or two.  You may have very mild swelling (this is typically most notable when treating over the eye area) that lasts up to a few days.  Once the redness has dissipated, you will start to see tiny bronzed dots on the skin where the device touched – these can feel a bit rough like fine sandpaper, but are easily disguised by makeup. These tiny bronzed dots will slough off on their own typically by day 5-7 (again, more or less based on intensity of treatment).

What are post-treatment care recommendations?

You will continue to apply your topical exosomes for a few hours post-treatment – this will not only enhance your results, but significantly accelerate your recovery time.

For at least 24 hours post-treatment, stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear a hat when outside.

Keep skincare minimal, gentle and clean during the first 24 hours.

Avoid heavy exercise, jacuzzis and saunas for the first 24 hours. After the first 24 hours, you can apply makeup and use gentle skincare products with an emphasis on moisturizing and calming the skin. Avoid actives (like retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, etc) for approximately 1 week post-treatment.

One treatment every 6-12 months will help keep up with the ongoing aging process and environmental stressors we encounter each day.  This is not to say you will lose the results of your initial series; simply that the aging process does not stop. Maintenance is also highly customizable and can incorporate other treatment options as well.

When will I see results?

You will likely begin to see and feel some results as soon as the skin recovers from each treatment; however, your optimal results will be visible approximately 3 months after your final treatment when collagen has had time to be produced.
