Restoration Room’s Well + Being Program seeks to improve your metabolic health through lifestyle modifications – including nutrition, exercise, sleep quality, stress management and metabolic health education.
These efforts are supplemented by tirzepatide, a medication that has been shown to improve markers of metabolic health as well as promote weight loss.
Tirzepatide is an agonist to glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors.
It works on multiple parts of the body by several mechanisms to enhance insulin secretion & sensitivity, reduce glucagon secretion, delay gastric emptying and increase satiety.
These actions combine to stabilize glucose and reduce caloric intake. Over time, these effects can lead to improvement in numerous biometrics – including glucose, insulin, cholesterol, blood pressure, inflammation, waist circumference and weight.
Improving these biometrics can lead to improved physical function, cellular health, heart & liver health, overall wellness and longevity.
To be eligible for the Well + Being Program, we use inclusion criteria similar to those published in the SURMOUNT trial(s).
If you have any of the following, the Well + Being Program will not be a good fit for you, and instead we recommend discussing metabolic health with your regular healthcare provider(s).
Common side effects of tirzepatide include:
Clinical trials also showed higher rates of gallbladder problems and pancreatitis.
Initial consultation will consist of a full history, physical exam, body measurements and discussion of expectations. This will help determine whether the program will be a good fit for you.
If we choose to proceed, follow up visits will occur at weeks 4, 8, 12, 24 and 48, including in-person or remote check-ins, medication resupply and ongoing education.
The mission of the Well + Being Program is to improve your metabolic health in a safe and sustainable manner. The majority of the impact will be achieved through education and beneficial lifestyle modification, with tirzepatide used as an adjunctive therapy.
